QSU's Events in October [Sep. 20th, 2006|10:01 pm]
Queer Humboldt

[Current Mood |excitedexcited]

This October Humboldt State's Queer Student Union has a few things going on:

Wednesday, October 11th is National Coming Out Day
Queer Fair on HSU's quad from 10:00 to 2:00. There will be a variety of local resources, information, some performances, and rainbow doorway to "come out" through, and general brew-haha. We're also hoping everyone will come in expressive and outrageous outfits!
That night there is a Queer Community Reception hosted by the Multicultural Center at 6:00 in the bottom floor of the J. This is followed by a Deep Dickollective performance at 8:00. Everyone is welcome at all the events.

And if you are with any organizations that would like to table at the fair but I missed, please contact me (abexy740 [a] gmail.com) or just comment here.

Saturday, October 28th is Homocoming
It's like the homecoming we never had. A queer-friendly dance, still in its planning stages.

Anyone willing to help pull a couch out of a truck and into my living room? [Sep. 15th, 2006|02:11 pm]
Queer Humboldt
Hiya, I just moved to McKinleyville a month ago, and finally got around to getting my furniture up here. But now I have a problem, the couch and one dresser are both MUCH too heavy for me to get out of the truck alone! Friends helped me load, but I don`t know anyone here yet. Is there any strong guy (or girl!) willing to come help me pull the couch out of the truck and into my living room? No stairs involved, and it shouldn`t take more than 15-20 minutes at most! I am willing to offer home-baked cookies (or other baked goods, or beer!) in exchange. I`d really like to get this done tonight (friday) or tomorrow morning.

Please, anyone free to come give me a hand?? Thanks!!

Punk Prom Friday April 28 [Apr. 27th, 2006|10:39 am]
Queer Humboldt

[Current Mood |amped]

The 3rd Annual Punk Prom is tomorrow at the Eureka Teen Center (map). It starts at 7 pm and there are a bunch of bands playing. This event is always great fun and everybody is welcome. Have the prom you wanted to with the people you want to be with - even if that's just yourself. The theme is Angels and Devils and it's a bit cheaper if you come in costume; as if you needed an excuse!

All-ages, drug-and-alcohol free, $4 with costume, $6 without

This event will include performances, dancing, play spaces, and a fully equipped and staffed dungeon for all you naughty boys and girls. Costumes (something sexy, creative and WILD!) are a must, along with an open attitude.

Queer Humboldt

Club Risqué is proud to present The Player's Primer: How to be safe and have fun in a sexy world. Sunday, April 30, 2006 12 - 2pm. To RSVP email clubrisque@yahoo.com.

This free workshop will benefit those who are curious about their local sex-positive community (in Humboldt County), thinking about attending a Club Risqué event, or have attended and are interested in furthering their skills in communication and negotiation. Hope to see you there!
